Motherhood, meditation, travel, writing and deep reflection are sources of tremendous inspiration for Rhia. Her classes use the physical practices as access points to the more subtle and spiritual aspects of yoga such as observing mental and emotional patterns, and connecting to Spirit. Rhia discovered yoga when she was a teenager and has been teaching since 2002. She leads public and private yoga classes, workshops and is the co-director of Svasta Yoga School. Rhia is Level I ParaYoga certified with Yogarupa Rod Stryker.
About Rhia's Classes
Yin Yoga Sundays 9am
Explore more subtle layers of the body and breath. Yin Yoga is a quiet, deep practice where the postures are held for 3-5 minutes. Postures range from passive to mildly active with a focus on the connective tissues of the hips, thighs, pelvis and lower spine.
ParaYoga Sundays 10:15am
Focuses on the stability of the body and mind. While classes will include physical postures, there will be as much emphasis on breathing exercises and meditation. In addition to helping students build steadiness, these ancient techniques encourage deepening one’s understanding of their inner landscape. Above all else, the mental and physical stability learned with ParaYoga is designed to teach practitioners to feel calm and at ease in our ever-changing, day-to-day lives.
